Recent Political Protests Spark Nationwide Rise Up 5K Run/Walk on July 1, 2017 RECENT CIVIL RIGHTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTESTS CONVERGE INTO A NATIONWIDE RUN WITH THOUSANDS OF PARTICIPANTS IN ALL 50 STATES. June 21, 2017 08:00 AM Eastern Daylight Time ( BUSINESS WIRE) — The nationwide Rise Up 5K will be held on July 1, 2017 with the goal of continuing the momentum started with the Women’s March held in January while raising money for civil liberty charity organizations. Runs have been organized all across the U.S. with over 5,000 participants registered so far.

LGBTQ Rights: The Trevor Project
Civil Rights: The ACLU Foundation, the ACLU of Sacramento, and the Southern Poverty Law Center.
