Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Sunday that President Trump “has demonstrated he’s a bit of a disruptive force,” according to BizPacReview.
“He does unpredictable things. He’s a dealmaker. He’s a negotiator,” the ultra-liberal Canadian leader said.

Proving that the U.S. president doesn’t have to be a conciliatory apologist for American exceptionalism (like Barack Obama was) to be respected by other world leaders, Trudeau said he’s optimistic about his relationship with the tough-talking Trump.
Trudeau said he respects that Trump is trying to follow through on his promise to “make America great again,” in much the same way that he wants to help Canada.
“The thing that reassures me fundamentally is he got elected on a commitment to help people, to make America great again,” Trudeau said. “The way to help those people is to bring in trade deals and jobs and economic growth that is going to help.”
Trudeau’s comments were made on the cusp of a potentially devastating moment for Canada, as Trump prepares to announce whether he’ll abandon NAFTA.

This isn’t the first time Trudeau has been complimentary of President Trump.
Back in August, the Canadian leader described Trump as “surprisingly authentic.”
Via Washington Examiner:
“It may be surprising to some that he’s authentic, in that the person he is on camera in public is very true to the person he is in private,” Trudeau said of the president during an interview with The Skimm. “So there’s a consistency there that one can work with.”
Trudeau has said in past interviews that Trump listens to opposing views and is open to shifting his position, “unlike many politicians.”
But when asked by The Skimm what one issue he would change Trump’s mind about, Trudeau declined to give a specific answer.
“As a prime minister, my job is not to try and influence or opine on what a leader of a different country should be doing,” he said. “My job is to do the best possible job for my country, and I wouldn’t want someone else telling me what I should be doing in Canada … I expect him to be standing up for what’s in the best interests of his citizens, and I’m going to work hard to work in the best interests of my citizens.”
