President Obama just won’t go away. It really looks like he doesn’t realize he is largely responsible for Trump being president. If Obama’s policies had worked and if people trusted the party he led for 8 years, Hillary would be president. Period. End of story. And yet, Obama is still running around saying things like this…
From Washington Times:
Former President Barack Obama is taking credit for the robust economic growth that is taking place under President Trump.
At a conference of mayors in Chicago, Mr. Obama congratulated himself Tuesday for strong employment numbers in the U.S. this year, saying his climate-change policies have contributed to growth.
“As we took these actions, we saw the U.S. economy grow consistently,” Mr. Obama said. “We saw the longest streak of job creation in American history by far, a streak that still continues by the way.”
He added wryly, “Thanks, Obama.”
A truly stunning lack of self-awareness.
Sarah Sanders didn’t like that comment too much and she didn’t hold back on Twitter.

From Washington Examiner:
White House press secretary Sarah Sanders on Sunday called out former President Barack Obama for playfully taking credit for strong employment numbers in the U.S. in 2017.
“Can’t make it up: Obama now wants credit for the booming Trump economy. At least we can all agree the economy is better under President Trump,” Sanders wrote on Twitter.
Sanders then joked that she was “old enough to remember” when Trump’s election was predicted to “crash the market.”
Sarah also went on Fox News and talked about Obama’s ridiculous comment.
Really difficult to even attempt to figure out what Obama is talking about here. Obviously, it doesn’t jive with reality. Obama presided over the slowest economic recovery since World War II. Then Trump won the election (clearly part of the reason was Obama’s terrible economy) and everyone ran around saying the market would crash. Mark Cuban promised us the market would crash. It didn’t. In fact, it exploded and broke record after record.
Trump has been killing it in terms of job creation as well.
From Breitbart:
The American economy has added more than one million jobs since President Donald Trump took office.
Defying expectations that job creation would slump this year, America has added more than 200,000 jobs in four out of Trump’s six months in office. That brought the total number of jobs created since the start of February to 1.07 million. On average, the economy created 179,000 jobs in each of the first six months of Trump’s presidency.
This is sour grapes from Obama. Not really any other way to slice it. He is clearly upset that his record as president was strong enough to elect a candidate who promised to continue every major policy of his. Hillary would have been an Obama third term and the American people handed the White House to a reality TV star. That’s gotta really rub Obama the wrong way.
Say what you want about President Bush, but it was nice that he largely stayed away from politics in the years immediately following his departure from the White House. It would really be nice if Obama would do the same thing. He won’t, though.
